Menno Veeneklaas - Partner
Menno has 18 years of diverse business experience. He has worked in Managing Director and CEO roles with growth-stage healthcare and ecommerce companies, in private equity and corporate development roles with Macquarie Bank and the Virgin Group investment holding company, and in strategy consulting with the Boston Consulting Group. During his career Menno has worked with a number of large, publicly listed companies and many private companies in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. He has served as an executive and non executive director on more than 10 private company boards and has co-founded 3 companies. Menno specialises in mergers, acquisitions, divestments, capital raisings and assisting companies with developing and executing growth strategies. He has a BA in economics and politics from York, UK and an MBA from Kellogg, USA. Menno is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Gary Blom - Partner
Gary has over 30 years of business experience. He spent 12 years working as an investment banker in New York (United States). During his time in the US Gary worked on numerous transactions across a wide range of industry sectors. Following his return to Australia he has been involved in a number of entrepreneurial endeavours, most notably the successful launch of the large-format 3D IMAX movie theatres. Gary specialises in complex negotiations, deal structuring and business development.
David Smith - Director
David has 15 years experience in investment banking and various corporate roles, with the past ten years at ABN AMRO and the boutique advisory, Gresham Partners, in Australia and The Netherlands. David has significant experience in providing strategic advice on acquisitions, disposals and demergers, valuations, fund raising and capital management. He has worked on 19 successful deals totalling $34 billion across a range of industries, with deals ranging in size from $60m to $15 billion, with a strong interest in working with mid-market companies to understand their needs and grow shareholder value. Prior to investment banking, David worked for five years with Dow Chemical in Sales and Marketing in Australia and as a business analyst in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan. David has a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Sydney and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of NSW.
